Calla Lilies The calla lily, Zantedeschia aethiopica, grow from rhizomes. They can adapt to many types of soil which make them good for naturalizing. They also make nice container plants or cut flowers. In some parts of the world they are considered weeds. This species is the most hardy of calla lilies.
