Tips:

Using fresh fruits and vegetables is the best for nutritional value.  The smoothie will also taste better and look more appealing.
• If oranges are replaced with juice, the meat and juice will separate when stored.

Variations:

• Once in a while we will add a small handful of red rasberries or a small handful of white grapes.
• Any of the above fruits and vegetables can be left out, or others added.  However, any changes may alter the color and the taste entirely.

Introduction:

We are about to tell you how to make this wonderful refreshing, great tasting drink that you cannot find in any store.  The drink is made from raw fruits and vegetables.  It is a high energy nutritional smoothie.

Smoothie Recipe:

In a blender add the following ingredients:

   1 cup apple juice
   1 peeled orange
   1 or 2 peeled banana
   1 peeled pear
   12 to 15 baby cut sized carrots.
   
A couple leafs of iceburg lettace (green leafs will give the mix a greener color)
  
• Blender on high speed until color is consistent
.
• Makes four to five cups of a delicious sweet, thick and creamy, peach or orange colored smoothie. 
• Drink immediately or chilled. 
• Fresh ingredients will keep as long as three or four days in the refridgerator.

Substitutions:

• The apple juice can be substituted with apple sauce.
• The orange, pear, and peach can be substituted with about 8 ounces of can fruit. Leave out the juice.
• The orange can be substituted with orange juice.

Nutrition:

The carrots alone include these vitamins and minerals:
Beta-carotene, vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B6, and C.  Minerals include calcium, copper, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, and iron.
